Clark Gable (1901-1960) was a popular romantic movie star of
American motion pictures. He appeared in about 70 films, but was best known for his
portrayal of the dashing Rhett Butler in Gone With the Wind (1939) for which he was
nominated for an Academy Award. In 1934, Gable won the Oscar for role in It Happened
One Night (1934) with Claudette Colbert.
Clark Gable also served as an aerial gunner in the Army Air Forces from 1942 through
1944 during World War II. |
