Olivia de Havilland (1916- ) was born on July 1, 1916. Like her sister, Joan Fontaine, she was a British born Hollywood star. She debuted in the film A Midsummer Night's Dream (1935). She played demure heroines, such as Melanie in Gone With the Wind (1939). It must be noted that it is ironic she is the only one, of the four main characters still alive but was the only one to die in the movie. Ten years later she emerged as a leading actress in:

• The Dark Mirror (1946)
• To Each His Own (1946) for which she won an Academy Award
• The Snake Pit (1949)
• The Heiress (1949) for which she also won an Academy Award

De Havilland appeared in fewer films after the 1950s.
